AINSLEY BARCLAY
SEDIMENTOLOGIST stratigrapher
Aislyn Barclay is a geoscientist with over 15 years of experience in sedimentology, stratigraphy, and reservoir characterization for Anadarko and Woodside. She has worked across diverse depositional systems—including deepwater slope channels, basin-floor fans, shoreface, and fluvial-deltaic settings—in basins spanning the Gulf of Mexico, Mozambique, Namibia, California, the Permian Basin, and the Cretaceous Interior Seaway in Calgary. Known for her ability to integrate seismic, wireline, core, and image log data, Aislyn develops robust depositional models that improve exploration and development outcomes. She is also a passionate mentor and educator, having co-designed and taught deepwater field schools and core workshops.
Aislyn earned her PhD in Geology from Baylor University, where her research focused on lithofacies heterogeneity, fluvial style variations, and diagenesis in the Chinle Formation. She holds an Honors B.S. in Earth Sciences from McMaster University in Ontario, Canada.
